Be Courageous, Friend!

Courage : (n) the ability to do something that frightens you.

I don’t know about you but I spend a lot of time on Pinterest. I get outfit inspo, home decor ideas, and a recipe to try every once in a while. But the things I probably “pin” the most are quotes. I have a board titled “words” and it is full of uplifting and encouraging quotes that inspire me every day to keep pushing towards my dreams and goals. I was going through it the other day and found a quote that I had pinned months ago. The quote was “Fear tricks us into a boring life.” -Donald Miller.

It got me thinking a lot about courage. What courage means and how to be courageous, you know?

Essentially, courage is having fear and acting anyway. And man, it is easy to let fear win. I could name a million times where I wanted to do something and fear reared its ugly head and prevented me from doing things I wanted to do. Anyone with me? The amount of times I “almost” started this blog and let fear win is borderline embarrassing. I have talked my self out of a million things because of fear, and sister I ain’t proud of it.

Overcoming fears can be challenging. Fear can trick you into saying no to things that every ounce of you wants to say YES to. It really can trick us into leading a “boring” life. But that my friend is where courage graciously steps in and reminds us that fear doesn’t have to win. And isn’t that a beautiful thing? To overcome fears. To free yourself from what holds you back. To look at what is scaring you right in the eye and say “you aren’t going to win this one.” THAT IS COURAGE. THAT IS BOLDNESS.

And is that what we all want? To live a bold and courageous life. To not regret letting fear win. This week I encourage you to take a look at what is holding you back from where you want to be. What is making you fearful? And then DECIDE to not let it win. Be courageous sister! Don’t let fear win!

I hope this resonates with you. I pray it gives you the COURAGE and the kick in the pants you needed to overcome whatever fears are taunting you. You are amazing and you can do anything you put your mind to!!

I love ya!

XO-

Kelly
